The collection consists of a handwritten letter, composed on The Freeman stationary, 19 Jan. 1923, to Carl Manthey Zorn, concerning an article he had submitted for publication on Emil Ludwig's Rembrandt. Although Brooks hesitates to publish the article, he admires it, and suggests that future articles by the same author would be acceptable, mentioning Hans Vaihinger's Die Philosophie des als ob.
